Restaurants in Santa Cruz refuse to open because of 30% rule

The bars and restaurants in the centre of Santa Cruz have decided not to open on May 11th, the date which the central government has set for the opening of terraces and of those establishments that do takeaways, saying that the ruling for use of 30% of capacity is unfeasible.

The president of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Shops of the Avenida MarĂtima (Aecam), Eduardo Morales, which is formed by over 200 catering businesses, said “with 30% capacity it is unfeasible that we remove all the workers from the ERTE, because with that percentage some can not afford to open.
